IMG’s real estate investment markets rank among fastest-growing U.S. metros

New population estimates from the U.S. Census show that all eight markets in IMG’s current investment portfolio were among the fastest-growing metro regions in the U.S. from 2010 to 2020.

  • Raleigh 25%
  • San Antonio 20%
  • Charlotte 19%
  • Denver 17%
  • Seattle 17%
  • Tampa 16%
  • Atlanta 15%
  • Portland 12%

Note that four of the top 10 fastest-growing metros are in Texas. IMG recently acquired its fourth San Antonio-area asset with plans to purchase more apartments in the Sun Belt region by the end of 2021. The firm has acquired more than $322 million in assets since the start of the pandemic, bolstering its multifamily portfolio across Texas, Georgia and North Carolina.

In contrast, the U.S. Census showed six major metro regions with negative population change for the decade:

  • Chicago
  • Buffalo
  • Hartford
  • Rochester
  • Cleveland
  • Pittsburgh
