IMG Risk Manager Named Finalist for Excellence in Risk Management at 2026 Insurance Luminaries Awards
Woodland Hills, CA – March 25, 2025 – Investors Management Group (IMG) is pleased to announce that Brandon Felus, Risk & Compliance Manager, has been named a finalist for the Excellence in Risk Management award in the 2026 Insurance Luminaries recognition program presented by PropertyCasualty360. Now in its fifth year, the Insurance Luminaries program honors pace-setting individuals and organizations making a positive impact on the P&C insurance industry through leadership, innovation, and outreach.
Felus oversees insurance, risk mitigation, and compliance across IMG’s national multifamily portfolio — a collection of more than 5,100 units representing over $1 billion in market value. His background spans nearly a decade in claims adjusting, accounting, and property compliance, including managing complex liability claims at Travelers Insurance and serving in accounting and internal audit roles earlier in his career.
In an environment defined by rising premiums, catastrophic weather exposure, escalating reconstruction costs, and mounting litigation risk, Felus has delivered results that stand out even among best-in-class operators. He led the consolidation of IMG’s insurance program from multiple policies across multiple markets into a single master policy covering the entire portfolio — improving coverage while generating nearly $700,000 in savings. He also established a renters insurance program ensuring full resident coverage across all properties and has worked closely with lenders to reduce monthly insurance escrow requirements, producing meaningful cash flow improvements at the property level.
Perhaps the most compelling measure of Felus’s leadership is this: IMG recorded zero property damage claims filed in 2025. Achieved through proactive property walkthroughs, disciplined coverage selection, rigorous claims oversight, and multiple loss prevention initiatives, this outcome is rare by any measure in today’s insurance environment. Felus has also served as the primary point of contact for annual carrier and lender inspections across the portfolio, ensuring requirements are not only met but that existing loss prevention programs are clearly communicated and documented.
Finalists and winners will be honored at a live Insurance Luminaries Awards event on June 24, 2026, at The Palmer House in Chicago. The event will include roundtable discussions, an expert panel, a keynote speaker, and a formal awards reception.
