Senior Asset Manager
Matt has been involved in the apartment industry since 2004 when he started his career with American Capital Group, a Seattle-based developer/builder/manager. During his 10 years with this organization he was involved in budgeting, team management, capital projects, lease up, refinance and management of the tax credit department.
Following this position, Matt worked for a Chicago-based firm, Optio, as the Vice President of Operations managing Class A assets strategically located around the continental US near large military installations. Focused on providing unique living options for both service members as well as civilians, he was highly involved in the company’s operations, marketing, base relations, policy creation and pricing amongst other duties.
Later, he worked for Seattle-based third-party property management company Thrive Communities as a Senior Regional Manager. In this role he had direct oversight of a portfolio of over 2,500 apartments in Seattle and the greater Washington DC markets. He was involved in the renovation of approximately 1,500 apartment homes with improvements in excess of $25M. Additional focuses were involvement in the company’s budgeting process, training programs and holding a seat on the Washington Multifamily Housing Association’s Government Affairs Committee.
Joining the IMG team in 2020, Matt implements a variety of measures targeted at improving efficiencies and portfolio performance.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington. He has also attained the National Apartment Association’s Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor designation.
What’s the best place to be when you aren’t working?
The golf course! I'm an avid player and routinely can be found out on the course with my friends.
What are your favorite sports?
After golf, I'd have to say football. I've followed my beloved Washington Huskies and Seattle Seahawks to various venues around the country.
What is your favorite charity to support?
I've volunteered with a Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild for over a decade, helping to provide an opportunity for kids with medical conditions to attend a fully funded summer camp.
